Folly Beach & Charleston Vacay 2012

20 lbs gone baby!!!

I can't say enough about HomeAway.com and their fabulous vacation rentals...I managed to land a sweet deal on a superb condo right on Folly Beach next to Tides Hotel, smack dab in the middle of where it's all happening!  Loaded up the fam and spent a week having ourselves a blast.  Several highlights included of course frolicking in the ocean, chillaxing at the Tides Beach Bar, exploring all of the quaint little shops & restaurants on Folly my favorite being The Shrimp Company and Taco Boy definitely a must if you're ever on Folly and spending a day in Charleston exploring and eating at Hyman's Seafood Restaurant.  No kidding THE best seafood in that area and I got to sit in the same spot where Oprah Winfrey sat, other notables who dined at our table were Kevin Costner, Danny Glover, Sarah Jessica Parker, Matthew Broderick among others, a really great experience there.  We were also fortunate enough to tour Patriot's Point where we explored the aircraft carrier the U.S.S. Yorktown, a cutter ship and a submarine.  To end a perfectly amazing trip our last night was spent enjoying the music of THE Folly Beach Bluegrass Society who were FANTABULOUS!!!  Couldn't have asked for more on this trip!

Another Win for Brian At Struttin In The Ruts Mud Bog

Well with the addition of Brian's new F250 Turbo Diesel we were able to haul the old Ford F150 with it's 44's to the Struttin In the Ruts Mud Bog in Surgoinsville, TN and once again my hubby took home 1st place in the Modified Division.  We had a wonderful time with several family members definitely a night to remember!!  Congratulations Brian!

4th Of July Fun!!

The 4th of July is always a big deal around our house, this year we enjoyed an awesome picnic in the park on Sunday & Tuesday night we had friends over.  We always go to our town's 4th of July parade and this year was no different...well yes it was.  This year we drove Brian's new truck in the parade and had a fabulous time doing it.  So many people we knew hollered at us and we waved and hollered back.  I loved watching the expression on my husband's face as people commented on how much they LOVED the truck.  It was cool to get a different perspective of the parade as well.  We enjoyed time with the family and watching fireworks from the back deck.  This holiday is just one of the many reasons I love summatime!!

At the stroke of midnight on May 1st I got to witness this precious little girl come into this world and ever since I have been wrapped up!  It's so hard to believe that she is now over a month old and swimming in my pool and hot tub, and also having lunch with us downtown.  Love little Charlee girl and her Momma.

Ok this ones for all our fellow Mud Boggers out there who are constantly checking my website....Yes we've been this year but not with our truck yet.  The 44's are on it though and now the new steering and shocks...Our truck is TALL now!!  Pic in a minute but this time we talked one of my oldest high school friends into taking his Dodge which he's made a few mods to this year.  He did it all right too...spent some money on it.  Still stock stuff though.  Anywho...he gave it a few runs and almost made it out...I think if he would have run one more time he would have.  Not bad huh.  Ok here's Brian's rig...mud ready now on 44 inch Super Swampers baby!!  I drove this truck when I was pregnant with our son 19 years ago then it had 33's...glad it wasn't this high then!

16 Pounds Gone Baby!!!

Last year I wouldn't have dared put this picture on my blog...too much flab and no waistline what so ever!  This year I decided to make a lifestyle change.  I wouldn't have been able to do it without God above and www.myfitnesspal.com it has changed my life completely.  Now I know exactly what I am eating and how much, or should I say little, exercise it takes.  Seriously people 2 months ago I decided I wanted to loose 15 lbs by my birthday in May.  A friend told me about this app.  It's like a Fitness Facebook that I can access by my Android phone, Ipad or any PC.  I plugged in my goal weight and the date I wanted to reach it by and the app showed me how to get there.  I am not one to love exercise or hadn't before.  Now I can't stand if I don't get my 20 minute walk in around the track at lunch 4 times a week.  That's it.  Walking and knowing how many calories are in what I was eating and what I now eat.  Once I reached my goal the app adjusted my daily caloric intake to maintain my current weight and now I find I have to really try hard to eat that many calories.  If you are wanting to loose weight you have to give this a try.  It's healthy, you can do it with friends, co workers, etc...for motivation and no shots or gastric surgery.  I have a neighbor who has logged into this app for 615 days straight who has lost over 180 pounds.  Now that's proof...plus if I can do it (I LOVE FOOD) anyone can do it.

Wow too much time has passed since I last blogged.  I am approaching the 39 year old mark and TIME JUST FLIES BY!!!  The spring here in Tennessee has been early and absolutely perfect which automatically takes me outside and away from my computer every chance I get.  I love the outdoors.  My friend Shawn is getting ready to have her 1st baby girl today and I had to post a picture of us at her baby shower.  My son Ryan turned 19 which is so hard to believe.  We went out to eat Mexican and showered him with gifts.  I had a fabulous time with my Mom and Sis when she came down from WV for a 3 day visit.  We shopped, ate out, got our hair done.  It was great and makes me realize just how much I wish she lived closer. Noah started playing Tee ball this year he will be 6 in only a few days, I better get busy shopping!!  Last weekend we took our first trip to Dad's new condo in Pigeon Forge.  We had a great time there.  The guys wanted to drive down to Townsend Saturday morning for the huge Bronco Celebration 8 show.  It was amazing to see all of the old broncos restored, after that we gals took the guys to Gatlinburg, and then back to Pigeon Forge for some shopping!  As I sit here I can't help but realize just how blessed I truly am.  Life is so good...GOD is go good to me.
